Tommy Williams, CFP® has been in the Comprehensive Wealth Management industry since 1986. His status as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional is testimony to his in-depth knowledge and background.
A creative problem solver, Tommy has proven to be a unique asset to high net-worth individuals and families, affluent business owners, successful professionals, and retirees. He began his career as a specialist in the retirement planning filed and has guided his firm into comprehensive wealth management. Through caring, long-term relationships and an unparalleled commitment to service, integrity, and ethical consultation, he has built a solid client base and expanded his practice through referrals. Tommy has qualified annually for the Million Dollar Round Table* since 1988 and belongs to the Chairman's Council with LPL Financial, the nation's largest independent broker/dealer based on total revenues (as reported in Financial Planning Magazine June 1996-2009). This places him in the top 1% of LPL Financial's 12,000 financial advisors nationwide based on production ranking of all LPL Financial advisors at year end 2009. He writes for the weekly "Financial Fundamentals" column in The Times and regularly contributes financial commentary on local and national television including The Wall Street Journal Online, FOX Business News, CNBC, Business News Network, and our local station KSLA. He also has been quoted recently in several articles written by The Associated Press as well as The Wall Street Journal, Kiplinger's Retirement Report, Reuters, and CNNMoney.com. From 1998 until 2003, Tommy hosted "Your Financial Future" on 710 KEEL, which was a weekly radio financial talk show. Tommy is an acclaimed public speaker, participates in frequent professional educational forums, and is listed in Who's Who in Finance and Industry. Tommy is an active community leader. He served as President of the Financial Planning Association Ark-La-Tex Chapter, President of the Board of the Samaritan Counseling Center, Chairman of the Allocations Committee for United Way of Northwest Louisiana, a board member of Live Oak Retirement Community, a member of The Coordinating & Development Corporation, Chairman of the Membership Committee for the Committee of One Hundred, and for nine years he chaired the Junior Achievement of North Louisiana Business Hall of Fame. In 2006 and 2007 he was a Co-Chairman of the fundraising campaign for Community Renewal International, and he remains passionate about the expansion of its mission. Tommy has served as a member of the Board of the Committee of One Hundred. Currently, Tommy serves on the National Advisory Board for Community Renewal International, and he also serves on the Membership Committee of the Committee of One Hundred. For the past eight years, Tommy has served on the Board of the United Way of Northwest Louisiana. He is also the Co-Chairman for the Programs and Sponsors of the Financial Planning Association Ark-La-Tex Chapter. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Downtown Shreveport, the Holiday and Dixie Ambassadors, Shreveport Chamber of Commerce, Bossier Chamber of Commerce, Louisiana Tech Alumni Association, and First United Methodist Church, where he serves on the Finance Committee. In October 2008, Tommy was inducted into the prestigious North Louisiana Business Hall of Fame.
Tommy is a 1974 graduate of Louisiana Tech University, and his daughter, Sarah, is currently a senior at Louisiana State University majoring in Finance. An avid runner, Tommy has completed 14 marathons including Dallas, Houston, New York, Boston, Big Sur California, and Louisiana.
