Steve Darden has been in the Comprehensive Wealth Management Industry for three years.
Steve brings a unique analytical depth to the industry borne from twenty-five years of financial management experience. Steve is not a sales person that has been trained to sell financial products. His background displays a succession of finance positions that have developed him into a trusted and seasoned financial planner and problem solver. Years of working in private industry have also developed Steve into a professional that fully understands economic events with a unique ability to communicate the meaning of those events to the clients of Williams Financial Advisors.
After graduating from Stephen F. Austin State University with a BBA, major in Finance and minor in Accounting in 1983, Steve began working for Texas Instruments in various positions from 1983-1993, ultimately as Financial Planning Manager for the laptop computer and laser printer division, a division with annual sales of $1 billion. From 1993-1998, Steve held positions including Vice President of Finance, Information Systems, and Human Resources and CFO for various companies around the country. In 1998, he had the opportunity to return home to Marshall, TX where he served as Controller and Corporate Officer for NORIT Americas, Inc. and also served on the Board of Directors of two subsidiaries of NORIT, Clarimex, Inc., located in Mexico City and Brascarbo, located in Guarapuava, Brazil. Throughout his financial management career, Steve always had a keen interest in economic events in general, and with how those events related to investments specifically. This eventually led him to change careers and join Williams Financial Advisors in 2006 as a Wealth Advisor. Steve enjoys educating his clients and the public about the economy. He hosts economic forums in our office, and he appears regularly on our local morning news, KSLA's "Dollars & Sense" segment.
Steve has been married to his wife Sandi for 25 years. They have two sons, Curtis, who is a senior, and Brian, who is a freshman, attending the University of Texas at Austin. His family is very active at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Marshall. Steve currently serves on several committees at St. Joseph’s. He also teaches 8th grade CCD at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
